The anticipation about the recent awards show reached a fever pitch, notably after host Geoff Keighley shared a puzzling photo of a strange statue. The secret has been revealed. The acclaimed developer is creating a completely new Divinity game.

Revealed to be Divinity, the game was presented with a audacious trailer featuring intense imagery, from a burning man to scenes of revelry and the very descent into chaos.

Not the Expected Sequel

Anyone anticipating Divinity Original Sin 3, prepare for a surprise. The studio warned that a third Original Sin game to its beloved RPGs is not currently in development.

However, the developer referred to this new Divinity as a next chapter of the core franchise. This distinction hints that the team might be crafting a real-time experience instead of another turn-based title. For now, we can only guess, as only a announcement clip is available.

A Pillar of Modern RPGs

The Divinity series is highly rated and arguably it kicked off the modern wave of complex computer role-playing games. These games are celebrated for rich lore, choice-driven narratives, and flexible progression—elements that subsequently found massive success in games like Baldur's Gate 3.

While its world is familiar fare, what truly sets Divinity apart is the remarkable agency granted to the player.

While numerous modern RPGs have simplified options, Divinity is brimming with niche playthroughs that are viable with a particular class or origin with a personal story.

The series is also wonderfully open-ended, enabling players to find creative solutions both in story and combat. Virtually all objectives can be completed in diverse methods, often in unexpected fashion.

• You might find an answer because you recalled something a dog told you.
• Or, you could defeat a foe by using the world itself in a clever way.

A New Chapter Begins

It is precisely these elements that lead fans and critics to declare games like Divinity Original Sin 2 as a top-tier role-playing games of all time. Now, fans can look forward to another adventure in this legendary franchise.
