EU Officials Condemn US Action as ‘Coercion’
European leaders including the French president accused the US administration of “bullying and threats”, after the travel bans targeted individuals that were central to campaigns to enact legislation governing American tech companies.
“For far too long, European activists have led coordinated campaigns to pressure American platforms to punish American viewpoints they disagree with,” stated a senior US official in a social media post. “The current administration will no longer tolerate such actions of extraterritorial censorship.”
