A bettor profited close to $500,000 from wagers on the downfall of Venezuela's president immediately preceding it was publicly declared, raising questions about potential gains made from non-public details of the US operation.

Wagers on Polymarket, a crypto-powered platform, that Nicolás Maduro would be removed from office by the end of January surged in the period preceding former President Trump stated on the weekend that Maduro had been apprehended.
